IFFI 2018, I: The Winners
At the 49th International Film festival of India (IFFI), 2018, which concluded in Panaji, Goa, on the 28th of November, the following films and film personalities got the honours:
*Golden Peacock for Best Film: Donbass, Ukraine
*Silver Peacock for Best Director: Lijo Jose Pellisery, for Ee.Ma.Yau, India (Malayalam language)
*Special Jury Award: Director Milko Lazarov, for Aga (Germany)
*Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Male): Chemban Vinod, for Ee.Ma.Yau
*Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Female): Anastasia Pustovit, for When the Trees Fall (Ukraine)
*Centenary Award for Best Debut Feature Film of a Director: Alberto Monteras II, for Respeto (Philippines)
*ICFT –UNESCO Gandhi Medal instituted by the International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication, Paris and UNESCO: Walking with the Wind (India), directed by Praveen Morchhale
*Special Mention under ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi medal: Los Silencios, (Portugal-Spain), directed by Beatriz Seigner
*Special Award for Lifetime Contribution to Cinema: Story-screenplay-dialogue writer Salim Khan (India)
