The San Sebastian Festival Management Committee will have a new member starting next year: Maialen Beloki. A Graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Navarre and Doctor in Film Theory, Analysis and Documentation from the Public University of the Basque Country, Maialen Beloki joined the San Sebastian Festival in 2010 as head of the International Film Students Meeting. The following year she was also coordinator of the Zinemira and Made in Spain sections and in 2012 she took up a position as member of the Festival Selection Committee.
Maialen Beloki contributes to the electronic film analysis magazine, "Pausa", and is co-author of the book published by the Filmoteca Vasca, "Antxon Eceiza, cine, existencialismo y dialéctica" (in collaboration with Jesús Angulo, José Luis Rebordinos and Antonio Santamarina). Maialen has also been a member of the selection committee for Kimuak short films. Kimuak is the Basque Government programme dedicated to the international promotion and distribution of Basque shorts.
With this addition of Maialen Beloki to the Management Committee, the San Sebastian Festival demonstrates its commitment to a new generation of professionals from the audiovisual world as an indispensable part of its team.
