ZAHOS SAMOLADAS was born in 1967 at Thessaloniki, Greece. His interest ιn filmaking beggan in 1983 as an amateur. Between 1984 and 1985 the Greek State Television ET1 showed 8 of his animated shorts with stories mainly from the Greek folk tales. In 1986 Zahos Samoladas goes to Cal Arts in order to study animation and motion graphics. Under the guidance of his mentor Jules Engels he studies experimental animation. Upon his return to Greece continues his studies at the Hadjikou Film School in Athens while working as TV editor and director. Since 1989 works as director at the TV100, the Municipal Television of Thessalonica. Two times nominated for the Greek State film quality awards; in 1997 for the animated short GENESIS and in 1998 for the animated short CHAPTER VI. In 2007 Zahos Samoladas won the Best Documentary award at the Patras International Panorama of Independent Filmakers for his work in the production ONE LIFE IN HISTORY: THE STORY OF DR. ARIS POULIANOS.
