The 31st Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) presented by Halekulani is proud to announce the winners of this year's Audience Awards, presented by Hawaii News Now. Ballots were distributed at the the first screening of every eligible film at this year's festival and audiences selected their favorite Documentary Feature, Narrative Feature, and Short Film. The ballots have been counted and this year's winners are:
FAVORITE NARRATIVE FEATURE: THE DESCENDANTS, directed by Alexander Payne
FAVORITE DOCUMENTARY FEATURE: ALOHA BUDDHA, directed by Bill Ferehawk and Dylan Robertson
FAVORITE SHORT FILM: TSUYAKO, directed by Mitsuyo Miyazaki
