Sundance Film Festival Petition is against fraudulent and unscrupulous practices by the Sundance Institute eliciting funds by deceptive practices and not fulfilling legal obligations to those who have paid money for entry fees. Independent filmmakers across the world in solidarity are calling upon the board of directors to terminate all film festival programmers and also for Robert Redford to conduct a thorough investigation into the board members themselves who have not cooperated with those who have been asking for interviews or information about Sundance and it's preference to include films of known filmmakers, and its exclusion of true independent films, and its recognition and acknowledgment that 6 head programmers cannot watch 10,000 film submissions, which is documented on-line, in interviews, which proves that films are discarded and fees are used for peoples pockets, parties, and that these unscrupulous practices must cease immediately.
Sundance Film Festival has been taking in over millions of dollars from filmmakers for submission fees for over 20 years. 50.00 to 75.00 entry fees are standard.
They inform applicants that all film submission are screened when in fact there are only 6 head programmers, most in their own blogs, and twitter accounts frequently state that for months of the year the programmers are traveling extensively across the world to OTHER film festivals to look for films. With 10,000 film submissions, and admission that they travel to festivals to look for OTHER films, it would not be possible to look at the submissions that do arrive by the HUNDREDS everyday in the mail.
Notice the dates in October the 1st he is touring a media center at a college inChicago, at a time when you would think he would be watching those 10,000 films that filmmakers paid over 65.00 to submit to Without a Box on-line submission (another scam) leaving only 5 other people to screen those films.
Notice the dates in January when the festival is in full swing. No mention of films, or screening, no; John is interested in parties, because this is what most of the money is used for. What money?
10,000 film submissions multiplied by 50.00 to 75.00 submission fees. Do your math.

And they travel at who's expense? Yours, the filmmaker who is being dupped by an unscrupulous corporation that promises filmmakers a chance, and boldly proclaims how they encourage and inspire artists, and seek to discover art, who are really only interested in taking money deceptively for as long as the charade goes on and nobody notices. A relatively simple attempt at some research will show you how the programmers are connected to the Kevin Smiths of the world, and that no matter how bad your film is, it is all politics and it will make it into the festival while other films are not even looked at. The documentary Scam Fest tells the true story of this world wide scam, and not only features most 99% of the festivals in this scam, but concentrates on the film festival that leads the way for fraudulent practices. We ask that every artist, filmmaker, editor, director, producer, television, film, music or otherwise SIGN THIS PETITION. It will be forwarded to the Institute its board members and the States Attorney.
