Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is the most prestigious indie film event in the Philippines.  The ten-day festival is held late July annually at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and other satellite venues. Grants are given for the production of full-length digital features -10 New Breed for newbies, and 5 Directors Showcase for more experienced directors.  Aside from the grants and the competition, other exhibition modules are held, along with a 2-day Film Congress.

One week festival throughout South Africa and countries worldwide. The purpose of the festival is to showcase powerful, inspiring, faithaffirming, evangelistic, transforming stories in the form of film to the world and the Body of Christ in every nation. We want to emphasize how the power of storytelling can impact the lives of people and shape a specific culture. The festival will be presented in two forms, in host countries around the world and in selected movie theatres throughout South Africa. BehindTransforming Stories International Christian Film Festival 2011 (TSICFF 2011) is a greater vision to transform cultures through storytelling and inspire people to make use of films in sharing the Gospel to all mankind.No longer will we as followers of Christ allow our world to be poisoned with profanity by media elites. Instead, we are encouraging revolutionaries out there to produce stories which can transform our culture into one that will be in line with The Kingdom of God (Yahweh),one of Justice, Peace, Righteousness and Love. TSICFF is looking for films that effectively illustrate stories of transformation by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; or true life testimonies of both spiritual and physical transformation by God’s power and intervention; or Biblical truths leading viewers to a clearer understanding of certain issues and topics.What makes this festival so unique is that it was launched in 2010 in South Africa through the partnership and association with the Lausanne movement, where over 4500 International Christian leaders from over 200 regions in the world were introduced to the festival. This opportunity has established great relationships to ensure future growth of the festival. Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India (www.vigyanprasar.gov.in) is organizing National Science Film Festival and Competition (RVCM) in collaboration with Jahangirabad Media Institute (www.jmi.edu.in) on 4-7 January 2011. The festival is being organised as a part of Indian Science Congress at SRM University, Chennai.
The festival is a unique event for science film makers. Through the festival they can showcase films in front of an eminent audience of Scientists, Science Communicators and Science Policy Makers from around the world. We are looking forward to create a platform for scientists and science communicators to think, share and contribute to the emerging world of science film making. This venture will go a long way forward to create a scientifically conscious media in India.
The festival has competition categories: Popular Science Program (duration more than 20 min), Short Film on Science and Technology (duration less than 20 min) and Animation and Graphic film/video on Science and Technology. The best film in each category will receive the Golden Beaver Award with a cash prize of Rs.50,000/-, the second best film will receive a cash prize of   Rs.30,000/- and the third prize will be Rs.20,000/-. The last date for receiving entry is December 15, 2010. The entries can be submitted in DVD (PAL) format.
