Fragments of "Mioritza", the romanian national ballade intermingles with Jonas Mekas poetic visions. Romania, a land of contrasts, on the promising doorstep of European Union still seems to be in a state of post-communist syndrome. Romania's resemblance to Lithuania intrigues questions and skepticism. Winter as a metaphor is I.Ponkina's debut short film.

David (Ted Taylor) comes to Japan for one week to study traditional legends. He is supposed to meet Professor Ozawa, a leading expert in the field. But when he arrives, he gets picked up by Ozawa's two female assistants, Sanae (Mimori Sento) and Manami (Sakiko Ikegami). They bring him to a traditional guest-house and accompany him during his stay. A strange man in the bath house (Kan Mikami) tells David about the local Tengu legend. Tengu are a class of well known monster-spirits with a long nose and a red face who live in the Japanese forests and mountains. David is immediately fascinated. But the more he finds out about the Tengu, the more he is drawn into his own past-life. As a matter of fact some Tengu legends can be connected to shipwrecked foreigners who were forced to live in hiding in the Japanese mountains during Japan's Sakoku (closed country) era (1637 - 1853). Ultimately, "Tengu" is the story of a Westerner who becomes the origin of a famous Japanese legend.

An old man, Mr. Eguchi accidentally finds a special hotel for gentlemen that are called "House of the sleeping beauties" by the sea. When a guest reserves a room, he can sleep with a young girl who is dead sleep by medicine. But the house has the strict rules and a landlady controls all. Mr. Eguchi fall in impossible love with a sleeping girl and the love remind him of his life. The background of this story is 1960’s in Japan. It was the last period that Japonisme and specific morals had remained in ordinary people and their life after world warⅡ.

The Doctor filmed all the murders in 8mm and started to call himself the Auteur. 30 years later a small American film crew has arrived to Finland to shoot a horror movie about the massacre. The movie’s director, Steven, is engaged in his first feature with his DoP Darius and gaffer Mike from LA. The leading actress is a Finnish rising star Lisa, who’s dreaming about Hollywood. Dr. Andersson is played by a famous B-movie actor with a big ego. Everything is going according to plan until two Finnish sound guys discover something evil hidden in the basement: the original snuff films shot by the Auteur. Steven is stimulated by the raw and brutal snuff film material and starts to rewrite the script. The scenes are not real enough. Everything changes when he finds The Auteur’s 8mm film camera. Now he is ready to shoot his masterpiece, the film for which he will be remembered. Soon the crew realizes that they are the stars of the film. Instead of making a horror film, they are in one. The Auteur is slaying the Skeleton Crew one by one. There´s no sequel for you!

Synopsis Granica, Grenze, Border - dividing line between two religions, two cultures - between majoritarian Serbian respectively Croatian areas. Twelve years after the end of the conflict about the 'Republic of Serbian Krajina' in the Yugoslavian/Croatian war (1991-1995), the traces of altercation are still present. Delapidated, destroyed houses - partly sitting right next to minefields, or in the middle of townscapes, waiting for their owners - act as unintentional memorials, warding off oblivion. The former inhabitants or their descendants/heirs return only slowly to the area rendered improvident by the Yugoslavian war. What persists are half abandoned villages and scarcely inhabited cities in the hinterland, off the beaten track, which still haven't recovered from the times of war. Filmed in Zitnic, Drnis, Sibenik and Tepljuh (Croatia) in 2008, in locations around the area of the temporary border of the internationally not recognized 'Republic of Serbian Krajina'. After the 'Log Revolution' in August 1990 this area became one of the focal points in the Yugoslavian/Croatian war 1991-1995.

Everyone left him. The only one who finds access to his sick mind and makes him talk is a young female doctor. But confession of the terrorist turns out to be much more terrific than the death of hostages, mental hospital cellars, and everything that an average mentality is used to. He made everyone see the war that constantly takes place all over the world, the war that were started by people against the nature, the war that an average person can’t even notice.

Blank is a existential, psychological thriller which explores the cycle of violence and retribution which comes from the failure to remember the lessons of the past. The film is inspired by Milan Kundera’s quote “the struggle of freedom against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting”. A post-apocalyptic thriller about suspicion, mistrust and fear which leads to a shocking conclusion, the film is a political parable of the dangers of forgetting lessons and repeating mistakes.

Something remarkable happened for the first time in Asia. 16 physically challenged persons wrote a new chapter in the history of the Asian soil. They participated in the “Beyond Belief expedition challenge”. In two nights and three days, they traversed through mountain paths, fording water bodies and navigating through forests infested with snakes and scorpions to prove to the world that those labeled “disable” are able and capable. The expedition was to showcase their endurance power, skill and ability of the “differently able” persons. They went to the deep forests around the Garumara range in North Bengal, lived in camps and passed through areas that normal people would dread to dare.
