Une tempête solaire frappe la Terre provoquant une panne d’électricité générale. Dans un monde sans télécommunications ni moyens de transport, les hommes doivent s’adapter, faire face à leurs besoins et craintes les plus primaires.

Comme chaque année depuis 2017, le FCEN propose de découvrir, sur grand écran, une série espagnole inédite en France. Après, Crématorio, Vergüenza ou Arde Madrid, c’est une coupure générale qui attend les écrans du Festival avec Apagón. Une série en cinq épisodes de 45 minutes, réalisée par cinq maîtres du cinéma espagnol Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Raúl Arévalo, Isaki Lacuesta, Isa Campo et Alberto Rodríguez, écrite par des scénaristes de renom, Isabel Peña, Alberto Marini, Rafael Cobos, Isa Campo et Fran Araújo.
