Le soleil, la foule et l’ambiance étaient au rendez-vous !

La 12ème édition du Brussels Film Festival s’est clôturée ce samedi 14 juin par la cérémonie de remise des prix en présence des lauréats, suivie de la projection du film THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY, première réalisation de Hossein Amini (scénariste du cultissime Drive) d’après le roman éponyme de la reine du thriller Patricia Highsmith. Le jury officiel était composé du chanteur Raphaël, des acteurs Fabrizio Rongione et Olivier Rabourdin, ainsi que des actrices Hande Kodja et Anita Kravos.

Une édition qui a ravi les spectateurs avec quelque 30.000 festivaliers venus assister aux projections de films, concerts et rencontres. Dédié au cinéma européen, le festival proposait une Compétition officielle, des Avant-premières, un Panorama riche en découvertes, des séances spéciales et des projections en plein air consacrées au cinéma belge.

Le festival s’était ouvert avec le film LA CHAMBRE BLEUE de Mathieu Amalric, autre adaptation d’un grand maître du roman policier, Simenon. Après Peter Greenaway et Bertrand Tavernier, le festival accueillait cette année en invité d’honneur Sir Alan Parker qui a passionné les spectateurs lors d’une Master Class à Flagey, avant de présenter The Commitments à la Cinematek pour le lancement de la rétrospective intégrale de son œuvre. Deux workshops ont permis aux cinéphiles et professionnels de s’entretenir avec le réalisateur Pierre Salvadori et le scénariste Pascal Bonitzer.

Pour sa cinquième année à la direction du festival, Ivan Corbisier soulignait la diversité du cinéma européen avec des films comme l’émouvant Life Feels Good de Maciej Pieprzyca, le percutant Miss Violence de Alexandros Avranas, le kafkaïen The Double de Richard Ayoade, le western tyrolien The Dark Valley d’Andreas Prochaska, l’ironique Of Horses and Men de Benedikt Erlingsson, la comédie colorée Three Many Weddings de Javier Ruiz Caldera ou encore la tragi-comédie Smetto Quando Voglio de Sydney Sibilia. Des soirées thématiques ont permis aux festivaliers de plonger dans la cinématographie d’un pays, tout en découvrant saveur et tradition locales entre les projections. Ainsi, cette année, la Pologne, la Grèce, l’Espagne et l’Italie ont été mises à l’honneur.

Le festival accueillait en première mondiale THE DIRTY FIFTY, une exposition de 50 photos d’acteurs belges prises par le photographe liégeois Rudy Lamboray, dans la droite lignée des 12 salopards de Robert Aldrich ! Inaugurée le vendredi 6 juin en présence de la plupart des acteurs, l’exposition a attiré de nombreux festivaliers.

Célèbre pour ses concerts, le Brussels Film Festival propose une importante section musicale avec la projection de documentaires musicaux, l’organisation d’un speed dating entre producteurs et musiciens, des soirées et DJ sets. Cette année, Flagey a vibré lors d’un Ciné-Concert animé par le groupe liégeois MLCD (My Little Cheap Dictaphone), le groupe anversois THE FLYING HORSEMAN et le groupe chilien FOLLAKZOID.

Une fois encore, le festival a accueilli de nombreux invités dont Sir Alan Parker, Samuel Benchetrit, Anna Mouglalis, Alexandros Avranas, Pascal Bonitzer, François Clos, Gilles Coronado, Jean-Luc Couchard, Laurent D’Elia, Pascale Ferran, Julien Fezans, Sophie Fillières, Frédéric Fonteyne, Ronald Guttman, Jan Hammenecker, Marion Hänsel, Iram Haq, Damian John Harper, Hande Kodja, Anita Kravos, Thomas Lallier, Ferran Mesa, Antoine Mouniax, Anna Nehrebecka, Sofia Norlin, Anna Odell, Janko Popovic Volaric, Olivier Rabourdin, Luca Ragazzi, Raphaël, Fabrizio Rongione, Nicolas Ruffault, Pierre Salvadori, Sydney Sibilia, Delphine Tempels, Yorgos Tsemberopoulos, Dick Tuinder, Jaco Van Dormael, Gabriel Velazquez, Alfonso Zarauza, etc.
