HEC PARIS Alumini unite

HEC Alumni

Dear Friends,

We are all shocked at the madness and hate which struck France, Friday evening. By blindly killing those sitting at a café terrasse or attending a concert and by striking youth and life at the heart of Paris, the terrorists attacked that which we hold as most dear and most vibrant, the freedom to live together.

Since Friday evening, we have all exchanged worried messages with family and friends. For those of our HEC community who have been touched by the loss of a loved one, I would like to personally and on behalf of all HEC’s alumni offer our sympathy, our support and our friendship in these moments of pain.

We also think of the students at the School. We learned with great sadness that one of them was killed while attending the concert at the Bataclan. His name was Juan Alberto Gonzalez Garrido, and he was a student on the MBA. He was a great guy. Our thoughts are with his wife, his family, his friends, and his teachers. Peter Todd, Dean of HEC Paris, addressed a message to the school's students, faculty and administrative staff on Saturday. You can read it below.

Love, which is indestructible, and the force of life will always be stronger than hate. The values of friendship and solidarity which unite us as a community are more than ever present.

Wherever we are, we will also join the minute of silence that will be held on campus at mid-day, a minute which each of us will experience differently in our hearts, to honor the victims and to share the grief of their loved ones.

Message from Peter Todd to all students, faculty and administrative staff at HEC Paris.

With warm regards,

Emmanuel Chain, President - HEC Alumni
with Peter Todd, Dean - HEC Paris

Emmanuel Chain, President HEC Alumni
avec Peter Todd, Directeur d'HEC Paris
Bertrand Léonard, Président de la Fondation HEC
