Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. It is organised every year by the Le Public Système Cinéma and the Centre International de Deauville, and presents over 100 films to audiences in three different sites: the Centre International de Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barrière Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. Les festivaliers ont été présents en nombre. C'est à toute la sélection officielle qu'ils font honneur chaque jour dans les trois salles du festival : le grand auditorium du Centre International de Deauville, le cinéma du Casino et le cinéma Morny.

Jesse Eisenberg a inauguré la première cabine de cette 48e édition avant de recevoir son Deauville Talent Award venant récompenser l'ensemble de sa carrière, l'occasion pour lui de présenter son premier long métrage en tant que réalisateur, WHEN YOU FINISH SAVING THE WORLD.

Thandiwe Newton, également récompensée par un Deauville Talent Award, est venue présenter en Première GOD'S COUNTRY et a inauguré sa cabine sur les Planches de Deauville.

La comédienne Ana de Armas a reçu le Prix du Nouvel Hollywood et a présenté le film événement BLONDE aux côtés du réalisateur Andrew Dominik.
