NYTVF

The NYTVF was launched in 2005 as the industry’s first creative festival for television artists. A pioneer of the “independent television” movement, the Festival strives to construct a new and innovative path for program development. Where a film festival showcases completed works of art, competing for distribution and ready for the market, the NYTVF showcases ideas and talent, complementing the development process required for network, studio and branded entertainment development.

Call for Entries! A&E and NYTVF seek original unscripted treatments; one winner will create a pilot with the network

The A&E Unscripted Development Pipeline

A&E Network and the New York Television Festival are introducing an innovative program seeking original unscripted television treatments from independent artists and production companies. Entrants should focus on treatments that center on individuals or small groups that represent unique points of view. To be considered, producers must submit a short treatment (1-2 pages) along with a brief video introducing the subject(s). The top treatments will be reviewed by the network and the winning producer’s concept will be produced as a pilot in partnership with A&E Network and a production partner.

25 semi-finalists will be presented to A&E development executives.

Five finalists, selected by A&E, will receive notes on their projects and $2,500 to shoot additional tape.

One winner, selected by A&E, will be awarded $10,000 and he/she will participate in the production of the network pilot presentation.

All semi-finalists will be invited to participate in the 2011 New York Television Festival as Official Artists, Sept 19th- 24th.

 *   Submission Period Begins: Monday, June 20, 2011
*   Submission Deadline: Friday, July 15, 2011 (noon)

Free to enter.
