How to act when you are in top shape mentally but the body doesn't respond that way? Bas, Roelof and Evert are physically handicapped. Nevertheless they embark on a 1000 km bike trip across the Himalayas. From Lhasa to Kathmandu conquering mountain passes over 5000 meters high what makes enormous physical and mental demands to the participants.
Bas came into contact as a soldier with a high tension cable and can since then no longer walk. Roelof was soldier too. During his holiday he fell 6 meters with broken spine as a result. Evert the eldest one was scientist, until he accidently came under his own car, what led to partially paralyses and aphasia.
The camera follows the three guys during their expedition, which leads according to Evert to the truth. That truth is hard to swallow for Bas, the soldier who doesn’t want to give up and wants to be an example for others. Bas can’t make it to the top of the highest climb because of the cold. Roelof gets to the top, he isn’t concerned about the physical obstacles, but worries about the future with his girlfriend. The journey of Evert is a romantic story: he shares his love for the mountains with his wife, like they did on their honeymoon before the accident. This bicycle excursion Himalaya marks their love, with a majestic panorama as a reward.
THE CONQUEST OF HIGH PASSES is a moving portrait of people in search of their inner strength, during an excursion in a breathtaking landscape.

Story
The main characters of this contemporary comedy are connected to each other by their profession and family ties. University professor and a translator of Dante, Kryštof Mitrovský, his wife of 20 years, Naďa, and her brother, twice-divorced university rector Alexander Pažický who can find a solution in any situation. Krištof is a believer in the Taoist passivity; he rejects his brother-in-law’s careerism and suffers from narcolepsy. However, in the presence of women he wakes up miraculously. Just like in a centaur, he struggles with the conflict between the head of a human and the body of a beast, between morality and human passion. “God, when will you bless me with impotence, it will end the suffering…” sighs Miro Noga playing the role of Krištof.
The story starts with a scene of infidelity: Naďa catches her husband “consulting” with his student Silvia who suffers from nymphomania. Deeply upset, Naďa visits her lawyer friend and files for divorce. Later at a gas station, she runs into a man who insults her. Anger against the entire male race bursts forth and Naďa kicks the man with all her might in his butt. The man follows her home. Scared to death in the scary darkness of her building, Naďa hits the man and he falls to the ground, motionless. This unlucky incident starts a series of other unexpected events…

The two friends Nora and Isabel, both disabled, try to lead normal lives. Strangely enough, it is their family, well-meaning friends and care workers who appear not to want normality at all. When Nora then decides to marry her African lover Amadou, her family does everything in its power to stop her. The foreigner's presence sets in motion a series of unfortunate events: a suicide, a bitter deal, and a forced homecoming. And the consequences have only just begun...

really looks amazed by a musical and social phenomenon that seems to defy passing
time: how strange that, in an age when music is so easily accessible, someone should
spend years learning how to play an instrument just for the pleasure of playing it with a
bunch of fellow dilettanti – the latter word being used in its positive meaning, of course.
This is the starting point of a journey into Gianluigi Trovesi’s music and personal memories
along the many years of his activity both in the Nembro band and in the territory hosting it.

In the desert, a man is buried to his neck in the sand. One does not know anything about him. A young woman, naked under red veils, walks away without paying any attention to him. After getting out of his sand cradle, he will head for the horizon to meet his object of desire.
