How did The Giants come about?
I wanted to tell the story of two brothers who fend for themselves, on the edge of society and away from the city. The idea that they should be two young adolescents then imposed itself because I wanted to talk about that period in life when, guided by a desire for freedom and change, everything seems possible, even if the confrontation with the adult world is often harsh.

Cinéfondation Prizes 2011 awarded today by Michel Gondry and his Jury
The Cinéfondation and Short Films Jury (Julie Gayet, Jessica Hausner, Corneliu Porumboiu, João Pedro Rodrigues and President Michel Gondry) has awarded the Cinéfondation Prizes during a ceremony in Buñuel Theatre before the screening of the winning films.
Sixteen student films coming from Asia, America and Europe composed this year’s program. They have been selected out of 1,600 entries.

For some moments their paths cross and they get closer, but they also drift apart. In the end, they all get together by a tune that makes them feel connected, even if maybe only for this night.
