Both professional and Student filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work to compete for a variety of prizes and awards. We welcome films of all genres and styles that tell strong and original stories. We also accept feature-length and short film scripts for our FilmShift Screenplay Competition.
Twenty percent of our gross ticket sales will be donated evenly to 2 local non-profit groups: Christopher's Haven (a juvenile cancer support foundation,) and MetroWest Family Theater (a community theater group.)
Our prize sponsors are, quite simply, the giants of the independent production world. FINAL DRAFT, Harmonix's BEATLES ROCK BAND, SCRIPT MAGAZINE, INKTIP, JUNGLE SOFTWARE budgeting, SCRIPT P.I.M.P, ATOMIC, BUNCH/CASSEDAY, and WOODEN NICKEL LIGHTING, have donated products or discounts to Filmshift as prizes for our filmmakers.
The FilmShift Festival is dedicated to creating positive social change in local communities by supporting the art of film, filmmakers themselves, and small businesses of all kinds.
Thanks and we look forward to viewing all your hard work!
