Washington University African Film festivalWashington University's African Film festival featuring 8 films from 8 countries in one weekend. March 23 - 25 - Free admission africanfilm.wustl.edu Experience the latest in African cinema and explore the diversity of the continent at the African Film Festival March27-29, 2015. This year’s festival features vibrant coming-of-age stories, a confrontation with choices, and lives full of transition as well as the popular Youth Matinee with animated shorts from the continent. There is an opportunity to meet an up and coming filmmaker. The 9 narrative films plus two animated shorts from different African countries have won awards in international festivals. Sponsored by African & African-American Studies and Film & Media Studies in Arts & Sciences and African Students Association of Washington University. It is funded in part by a grant from the Women’s Society of Washington University. The event is also supported by the Saint Louis Art Museum; Saturday’s films are co-presented with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. |
