The Terracotta Festival

new logo

The Terracotta Festival is now in its fourth year and we aim to be a festival in the true sense of the word, not just a film season. We have parties and a dedicated area we are branding 'Terracotta Café' where other film fans and culture lovers can mingle with each other. Our Distribution company brings quality, entertaining Far East films to the UK by releasing films theatrically and on DVD.

Two Korean films programmed and Korean actress Kim Kkobbi attending Terracotta Festival 2011

We are proud to introduce in our Korean selection a mix of tense thriller and romantic comedy with impressive cartoons segments to the audience in the UK.

Man of Vendetta  파괴된 사나이, Friday 8th May 19.35. A thriller directed by Woo Min-Ho about Pastor Ju Young-su (Kim Myung-min), a man of rock solid faith whose life is shattered when his 5-year-old daughter is kidnapped. He seeks God with desperate prayers for her safe return but to no avail. Feeling betrayed and distraught with anguish, Ju renounces his faith and leads a completely secular life. Eight years pass and he receives a call about his daughter- that she is still alive and is living with the kidnapper. Once again, Ju’s resolute attempt to rescue his daughter begins.

Petty romance   쩨쩨한 로맨스 , Saturday 7th May, 13.00 with Lee Seon-Gyoon (Hong Sang-Soo "Oki's Movie") and Choi Kang-Hee is a witty and clever adult comic and romance comedy between an adult cartoonist who teams with an unlikely writer to try for lucrative adult comic prize, bringing out their respective wildest fantaisies. Director Kim Jeong-Hoon uses a great technique of mixing adult manwha animation into the rom-com feature film.

Also, actress Kim Kkobbi 김꽃비 from the award winning Breathless (똥파리) distributed in U.K. by Terracotta Distribution and invited to Berlinale 2011 for movie Ashamed (창피해), will attend the Festival to meet cinema-goers and sign copies of Breathless DVD on Saturday 7th May.

Other guests attending the Festival are: Japanese actor/Director Tak Sakaguchi, Japanese actress Rina Takeda, Hong Kong director Clement Cheng and Australian director Sam Voutas.Festival Venue: Prince Charles Cinema, 7 Leicester Place, London WC2H 7BY, UK
