Reactions of support and solidarity from all over the world, from film and audiovisual professionals and film buffs alike.

Clermont-Ferrand-International-Short-Film-Festival.jpg

Since the publication of the open letter by Éric Roux, President of the Sauve qui peut le court métrage association, on May 15, many supporters of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival have made their voices heard. Their support took many forms: official press releases, speeches, tribunes, signing and sharing a petition...

We'd like to say

THANK YOU!

A non-exhaustive focus on the invaluable support from everywhere: from the Croisette in Cannes, from professional institutions and organizations, from filmmakers and culture lovers around the world, not to mention countless articles like those in Screen Daily  or Deadline .

Marks of trust and recognition during the Cannes Film Festival

Part of the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival team was away at the Cannes Film Festival last week. They were given the floor on several occasions: during a debate organized by ACID (Association du cinéma indépendant pour sa diffusion), at the start of a screening of short films at the Semaine de la critique, and also at the UniFrance award ceremony.

The filmmakers of short and feature films also spoke:

Just Philippot has a history with the festival and its team. Tennis Elbow, which he co-wrote with his brother Vital, was screened in 2016, then his short Acide was in national competition in 2018. For his first feature film, La Nuée, shot near Lac des Fades, he was supported by the Auvergne Film Commission. After the screening of his feature film Acide (a longer version of the eponymous short), he shared this story with the entire Salle Lumière at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, evoking the importance of the Clermont-Ferrand festival.

Hungarian director Flóra-Ana Buda received the Palme d'Or for Best Short Film for her film 27. As she received her award, she dedicated it to the teachers and students of Hungary, with a special thought for the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival.
