The Red Sea International Film Festival the Jewel of Saudi Arabia

Five years ago, December 2021,The Red Sea International Film Festival (https://redseafilmfest.com/en/ ) surprised the World with the launch of a mesmerizing and enchanting event. Located in Jeddah this has now become the must attend last big international film festival of the year.

A WAVE OF CHANGE!

For its 5th edition that will take place December 4 until December 13, the festival team has again assembled a fantastic line-up of films, none other than nine stand-out titles as well as two significant Egyptian films premieres: ‘The Settlement’ by Mohamed Rashad and ‘My Father’s scent’ by Mohamed Siam. This year you can count on being impressed with several international screenings, such as ‘Kokuho’, the Japanese box office sensation or the pulp actioner ‘The Furious’ from legendary Hong Kong producer Bill Kong. According to, Faisal Baltyuor, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation: “The ‘Festival Favorites’ program represents the culmination of an exceptional cinematic year, bringing together twelve films that have shone at major international festivals. Each title has been carefully curated by our team to offer audiences in the heart of historic Jeddah a remarkable window into world cinema — reaffirming our belief in the Festival’s role as a bridge between East and West, and in presenting cinematic experiences that enrich the cultural landscape and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading destination for film.”

In parallel to the festival, there is also an important film market: ‘The Red Souk Markt’ which just announced 40 titles with 24 projects in development, 8 works-in-progress and 8 episodic series. The Red Sea Souk Project Market is designed to bolster international co-productions and grant access to new projects and talent. Holly Daniel, Red Sea Souk Director, said: “Our Souk Project Market is a vital part of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s ecosystem – acting as a vibrant hub for new voices to collaborate on innovative projects and ideas. Celebrating a five-year arc of this program also means we are welcoming back previous alumni with new work, which is a mark of the growing legacy of the Souk. This year’s selection of titles is diverse, creative and powerful and provide huge opportunities for development, and we’re looking forward to introducing them to new potential industry partners at the fifth edition of the Festival in December.”

As you  can tell,  The  Red Sea International Film Festival has  achieved a huge notoriety in the film business community and everyone is ready  to converge to Jeddah, on December 4-13, to celebrate the spirit of moviemaking and to join forces at spreading peace and unity through the creative process that only the mind and the heart can bring to the screen.  I see you in Jeddah, let’s be ready to fill up our eyes and our soul with endless stars and emotions. May the show begin!

Big Thank You to the DDA team and the team of The Red Sea International Film Festival.
