The Clip Takes it All at Cinema City

Cinema City is the past eight days showed a hundred films, most of which have premiered the local audience. In addition to four competitive selections, the program was introduced Revue "MTV is the Burn Planet Rock" and 360 °. This year Cinema City marked the visit of members of the board of the European Film Academy and a significant number of domestic and foreign filmmakers and professionals including a special guest was the German director Andreas Dresen. The festival Cinema City held an educational platform and Cinema Now Live Academy, dedicated to students and young professionals from the world of film through a series of lectures and unique opportunities to talk with the world's major film professionals such as Nick Powell, Laurence Herszberg, Simon Perry etc...

The debut film Klip (Clip) directed by young Maya Miloš was named best in National competition of Cinema City Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia while in international competition that is Adikos Kosmos (Unfair world) directed by Greek Philippos Tsitosa. The National competition National Class triumphed with Serbian film director Miroslav Momčilović, who won for best director and screenplay for black humor film Smrt čoveka na Balkanu ) Death of a Man in the Balkans. The jury (Laurence Herszberg, Davide Manuli, Mary Nazari, Lorena Pavlic and Martin Schweighofer) unanimously declared the Klip (Clip) for best film, arguing that is "brilliant in its courage and that is provocative" and that the Mayan Miloš managed to provide accurate and relentless insight into the problems of youth in Serbia with a ray of hope and tenderness. Best Actress is Nada Šargin, Serbian actress for her role in Praktični vodič kroz Beograd sa pevanjem i plakanjem (A Practical Guide through Belgrade with singing and crying) while the award for best actor went to a Bosnian actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović. Special recognition was given to Serbian film Ustanička ulica (Redemtion Street) for a high quality. The Audience Award went to Parada (Parade) by Srdjan Dragojevic.

The jury of international competition selection (Fridrik Thór Fridrikšon, Simon Perry, Jean Roy, Mira Staleva and Will Tizard) unanimously decided to award the best film of corresponding Adikos Kosmos (Unfair world) by Philippos Tsitos which, as noted in the explanation, “showed obvious directorial stamp of the individual strong talent matures”.

Jury selection competition Up to 10,000 Bucks (Rajko Petrović, Nevena Matović and Irena Škorić) declared the best in the program Miraž (Mirage) young Serbian director Keča Srđan, for "a fantastic analysis of the architectural wonders of modern civilization, manages to tell the present from time immemorial the story of exploitation, harnessing the authentic cinematic language. " Young Keča will be next produced by Nick Powell. The award for best Serbian movie in the selection of up to 10,000 bucks goes to the movie S druge strane (The Other Shore) by Marko Đordjević, who is "bold directorial procedure set out with a special sensibility, with an excellent work with the actors managed to convey the complexity of the male - female relationships." The award for best Hungarian of festival went to (Half ten) by young director Urban Aniko for "captures the spirit and fervor of youth." Special Award for Best Documentary Polish achievement went to Oboz (Camp) by Tomasz Jeziprski who is continuing tradition of outstanding Polish Documentary School, "succeeds in only 19 minutes of play one of the current issues of our time, obsession with appearance that begins at an early age." One of the special recognition awards for Best Director was given to Vladimir Tagić for Stevan M. Zivkovic, "for" the successful presentation of the absurd situation in contemporary Serbian society. Special recognition was given to the director of photography Ivan Markovic for the successful presentation of the psychological state of the protagonist of film Fragmenti (Fragments).

Jury selection of the new competition Educons Hungry Days (João Pedro Rodrigues, Zvonimir Juric and Santiago Fillol) declared the best in this program, the Brazilian film O Som Ao Redor (Neighbouring sounds) which was directed by Kleber Filho Mendoca. According to the jury, the film manages to transform an ordinary life in an ordinary neighborhood in the city of Recife, and something very disturbing, and has been awarded and the way it utilizes the classic film genres as generators of their own myths, not only for a certain effect. Serbian branch of FIPRESCI Jury (Kronja Ivana, Nenad Dukić, Dejan Petrović) was declared the best in the National competition Praktičan vodič kroz Beograd sa pevanjem i plakanjem (A practical Guide Through Belgrade with Singing and Crying), and in the international selection "Exit Point" movie Stockholm Ostra (Stockhlom East) directed by Simon Kaijser da Silva. Serbian section of FIPRESCI jury, another section of FIPRESCI (Milan D. Spiček, Boris Gigov and Vladimir Džudović) has awarded the prize to Smrt čoveka na Balkanu (Death of man in the Balkans), and selecting "Exit Point" was awarded the film Associate by Martin Donovan.

The Very Last Day And not to forget to mention that very last day of the festival presented another Serbian film at the Special Screening Section directed by film director Saša Radojević Narcis i eho (Narcissus and Echo). This is a kind if an experimental film with several layers with the atypical form, and it befits an unusual presentation to be presented as an open work that will be developed in all directions and the term new media implies a permanent part of the intervention. The film is inspired by the eponymous Serbian opera Narcissus and Echo by Anja Djordjević whose music was the main impetus for director Radojević (to be) preserved via adaptation. With the recording of the opera performed 2002 , the film contains the feature parts that present a professor and a group of students on a field trip to a grassy overgrown part in the park, looking for the best place for film or stage setting of the opera "Narcissus and Echo." The heroes of this "film within the movie" are members of a group whose everyday neo-punk interest for music occasionally forms an ancient myth in film mixed with actual opera recording. Overlapping experience of students celebrate self-love and the inability to suppress the vanity, accepting very little real human contact.

The film is perfect for gallery presentations!
