Kusturica Won Best Actor Award

Cinema City Film & Media Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia presented over 120 films, 30 premieres and three competition selections and recorded over 80.000 visitors this year. The festival had international film but it is actually focused on Serbian film. An absolute winner of festival, according to audience and jury members is a Serbian film Srdjan Koljevic’s “The Woman with the Broken Nose” with several awards. And special award went to Emir Kusturica for Best Actor Award within Exit Point Selection while his presence on festival made truly fantastic atmosphere.

 

“Serbian Film” directed by Spasojevic, the most critically acclaimed film of the festival closed Cinema City Festival.  Festival Awards: Exit Point selection with Jury Ninos-Fenek Mikelidis – president of the jury, Canan Gerede, Guy Jacques, Steffen Wink and Kalina Kovačević awarded:-          The Best Film Grand Prix IBIS statuette and money went to “Winter’s Bone” directed by    Debra Granik -          Best Directing Award IBIS statuette went to Chinese director Chuan Lu for “City of Life and Death”.-          Best Actor Award IBIS statuette went to Emir Kusturica for his role in “Farewell”. “We award Emir Kusturica with this recognition for his subtlety and humanity in demonstrating different traits of one’s personality.”-          Best Actress Award IBIS statuette went to Lola Duenas for her role in “Me Too”

-          Special Recognition went to Mohamed Al-Daradji for “Son of Babylon” and to Pablo Pineda for “Me Too”.

 International jury for National Class competition selection of Kirill Razlogov – president of the jury,  Albert Wiederspiel, Dejan Aćimović, Jelka Stergel, Thure Munkholm decided to award>-          Grand Prix IBIS statuette and money went to Srdjan Koljevic’s “The Woman with a Broken nose” -          Best Directing Award IBIS statuette and money went to Sasa Hajdukovic for “32nd of December” -          Best Screenplay Award IBIS statuette and money went to screenwriter of “The Woman with a Broken Nose”, Srdjan Koljevic -          Best Actor In a Leading Role IBIS statuette and money went to Nebojsa Glogovac for his role in “The Woman with a Broken Nose” -          Best Actress In a Leading Role IBIS statuette and money went to Nikolina Djordjevic for her role in “32nd of December”

-          Special Recognition For Artistic Contribution went to actor from “Devil’s Town”, Vlastimir Velisavljevic.

 International jury for Up to 10.000 bucks competition in the selection of Dunja Kusturica, president of the jury, Ognjen Glavonić, Gauthier Morax awarded:-          Best Film Award – IBIS statuette and money to Nikola Ljuca’s “Thursday” -          Special Recognition for Directing went to Dane Komljen’s  “A already am everything I want to have.” -          Special Recognition for Original Approach went to “Useless Landscape” -          Special Recognition for a Promising Director went to Zoran Tairovic for “Little Red Riding Hood -          Audience Award For Best Film and Critics And Journalists at Cinema City Festival went to Srdjan Koljevic’s “The Woman with a Broken Nose.”
