Our Labour Film Festivals celebrate national and international cinema with the twin objective of recognising and supporting new filmmakers and improving knowledge, accessibility and understanding of social and labour issues amongst a wide and diverse audience.
The Festival seeks to encourage creativity and support the dissemination of audiovisual works that contain stories about work and workers, giving priority to their point of view of the world and social issues affecting their daily work, the life of their families and of the the communities to which they belong. Our Labour Film Festivals are supported by the TUC and the trade union movement in the UK including our main sponsors Unite and Unison. We aim to provide quality entertainment with social awareness, offering a bright and sensitive look at the world of work. We would like to say a special thanks to Construir Cine for their support in the creation of this contest.
We are delighted to announce the opening of the Labour film Festival International Contest 2017. This is an engaging NEW format for our festivals (London & North West) built around an impressive, shorts and feature-length film contest.
We are asking people to enter our contest with films that tell stories related to the world of work and of workers and their lives. You can read more about the themes on our website.
Our festivals provide quality entertainment with social awareness, offering a bright and sensitive look at the world of work. We are looking for works that contribute to this expanding film genre.
