Hollywood,
July 14, 2011---In anticipation of Universal’s re-release of Rick Rosenthal’s
cult classic Halloween II on Blu Ray
to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the film in September, the 7th annual
HollyShorts Film Festival will host a special midnight screening of Halloween II for fans on Friday August
12 at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 theatre presented by Rosenthal immediately following
the HollyShorts Horror shorts program that takes place Friday, August 12
10pm-12am. The screenings are both a part of HollyShorts Fright Night. 

Rosenthal
will present Halloween II and
participate in a special Q&A with the audience. Separately
on Saturday August 13, HollyShorts will premiere Rosenthal’s new short film BLINK during its 5pm short film program.

Two years ago, HollyShorts was the first
festival in the U.S. to showcase Eli Roth’s cut of Cabin Fever. Roth’s cut went
on to get a Blu Ray re-release following the screening and fan buzz.
