Fantasporto will have ghosts and more from February 20th opening with Marrowbone

The Festival will begin with the screening of "MARROWBONE"
112 films from 36 countries, of which 48 are World and European premieres. Retros of Taiwanese Cinema, 115 (so far) foreign guests representing 70% of the films in Competition, all in a big Fantas to start already next Tuesday with a champion of box office in Spain and, that day to day, that will bring us the great world cinema.
The Rivoli is as each year the hotspot of the Festival. Without the valuable partnerships, which represent about 300,000 euros in services, which complement the financial support obtained this year for Fantas (the 100,000 euros), it would not be possible to continue to hold the largest and most important Film Festival in Portugal. Now there is only one thing to do: fill the rooms of the Rivoli with public. Fantas's audience. Thank you all. Come on over another Fantas.
Grand Auditorium

About Fantasporto

Dorminsky Mario

The Oporto International Film Festival, specializes in fantasy and science-fiction films in its Official Competitive section.
This Festival also includes the 18th New Directors Week with an Official Competition and a Retrospective section. The Festival’s director, Mário Dorminsky, is preparing, with the help of the Portuguese Film Institute, a program with Portuguese Films for the benefit of the foreign guests in Fantasporto.
The Festival runs now in 5 theatres (2,600 seats altogether ) and screens nearly new 200 feature films each year. The press coverage of the Festival is made by all the most important Portuguese newspapers, radio stations and television networks and by foreign specialized press. This allows press dossiers of about 5000 clippings every year and represents a unique media coverage in Portugal for similar cultural events.

Almost 110,000 entries, per year is the average of the Festival’s past editions.
