A city of cinema to cheer up downtown Porto
A giant tent installed in the very heart of downtown Porto will be a privileged space for entertainment and celebration of the 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Porto. The example of what happened last year, on an experimental basis, the D. João I Square in front of the Municipal Theater Rivoli receives the "City of Cinema." This space is open to the general public and is a natural expansion of of Fantasporto, already too small to accommodate all the activities and parallel events that converge in the festival. Between February 25th and March 9th, in the period between 3 p.m. and midnight, this movie city will be the place where you can meet many guests of Fantas at the V.I.P. bar.. On weekends, the space closes at 2 a.m., except on the last Saturday when the final stage will be at the Sá da Bandeira Theatre with the biggest PARTY, the traditional "VAMPIRES BALL", this year with a massive "line up". Guest DJ's will cheer up the Fantas nights. This also where the meetings with the attending film directors will occur, as well as the press conferences, symposia and the master classes planned for the Fantasporto 2008. The inauguration of the "City of Cinema" is scheduled for 20:30 p.m. on February 25th, the day of the official opening of Fantasporto 2008.
