4 great classics open Fantasporto celebrating this year; Alien, Shining, Clockword Orange and Easy Rider in Fantaclassics

FOUR GREAT CINEMA CLASSICS  IN INTEGRAL AND RESTORED VERSIONS

The 39th Fantasporto - International Festival of Oporto Cinema begins to heat their engines already on Tuesday in Rivoli  -Municipal Theater of Porto, with the display of FANTAS CLASSICS section.

There are to see four great classics who celebrate this year important anniversaries .

" Easy Rider" (1969), by Dennis Hopper, on February 19 celebrating 50 years of the date of production, "The Shining" (1980), on 20 and "The Clockwork Orange (1971) (showing 21) wishing to remember the 20th anniversary of the death of Stanley Kubrick and even "Alien" (1979) Ridley Scott, which marks the 40th anniversary of the day of its debut World Cup (22nd). All movies will be displayed in their versions integral , in children restored and with 5.1 sound .

The FANTAS CLASSICS section so Tuesday with the screening of "Easy Rider" with a cast that part of Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper himself, Jack Nicholson and Karen Black (actress already honored by Fantasporto in 2005), a film that is consideredfairly as the paradigm of the road movie, about two friends who go from Los Angeles to New Orleans, to the party of Mardi Gras, on motorcycles high displacement, the iconic "choppers". Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper produced the film with only $400,000 .

Billy (Dennis Hopper) and Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and also the lawyer George (Jack Nicholson), the third Road mate, will all in search for a life lived to most to sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, chasing the dream of a future revolutionary . This behaviortransgressive shocks frontally with the most primitive instincts of America crossing inside, backward and conservative fear that minorities and the difference, ie, the same America who today , 50 years later, votes in Trump . A work extremely Current,although fulfilled 50 years ago!

His soundtrack was so important (and well successful) as the film, with  the recovery of topics that are icons rock history sound like "Born To Be Wild", the Steppenwolf, or the version of Roger McGuinn (leader of the Byrds) of "It's Alright Ma ( I'm OnlyBleeding ", original of Bob Dylan, among others .

" Easy Rider" is a free and creative icon of America that has its counterpoint in America deep , prejudiced , retrograde and violent confrontation . 50 years then, this America Trump, "Easy Rider", remains as subversive as when it was produced in 1969.

On Wednesday, the FANTAS CLASSICS section continues with "The Shining", the 1980 Stanley Kubrick horror classic, hosted by Fantasporto on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the director's death. Starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duval, "The Shining" brought terror, a genre by many marginalized as inferior, to the "mainstream" of the great films. In it , a family changes to a Hotel huge and isolated mountain there spend the winter . The father it is in charge of care fur building but isdominated early per an entity evil that leads him to commit acts of violence .

Based on Stephen King's eponymous novel in which an family innocent gets cornered on one Hotel Demonic , Kubrick preferred focus the film on the figure of a Jack Nicholsoneach increasingly crazed, possessed by the evil force of the building.

"Clockwork Orange," to be displayed Thursday at 9PM, is another must-have Stanley Kubrick classic included in this tribute to the dealer. The big difference between this movie and the horror films of the time is the use esthetic and care of the imageand the absence of a attempt of moral explanation of the exacerbated violence that the protagonist exerts.

All in this movie was new. There was the care in create a new vocabulary that gave one modernity imprint at words from Alex's group . The guard - rogue gang clothing helped also to the establishment of a image and the launch of a fashion, with toppers, army boots and facts whites , personified by the main actor's physiognomy , Malcolm McDowell. "A Clockwork Orange" remains as an alert for extremists , ranging from the extreme right politics to cheaters, washing to brain at ducts compulsive ,radicalism to excessive complacency. Kubrick knew that at the time. And everything remains current today.

The cycle ends Friday, with the display, by 23:30 (after session Festival Opening Official) "Alien" (Alien - the 8th Passenger, 1971), Ridley Scott, for the 40th anniversary of his debut. It is the original film of the Alien saga and the second long - film (afterwinning "The Duelists," 1977) Ridley Scott, director Briton who later brought us memorable films like " Blade Runner , "" Thelma & Louise, "" Gladiator, "or" The Martian . "

What " Alien " brings back is simple - a difference good clear in the tone of horror movies up to the height . Up until then, most of the monsters had humanoid form and its actions were preceded by "warnings", were them in the soundtrack that anticipatedand increased the suspense, or at climate afraid of characters . In Scott's movie, the monster can to evolve in physical form , to attack without warning, be faster than a bullet, one to be lethally organic , intelligent and even beautiful in its ugliness .

Originally drawn fur Swiss HR giger, the monster of " Alien " has nothing to do with the previous ones . The ferocity of this creature , its beauty horrible , unpredictability their indomitable attacks not had coming at the time of the premiere of the film and forthat, the realization precise and, for sometimes frantic, Ridley Scott contributed greatly to the success, which would provide its continuation in New remarkable films also they , to the horror movies .

The sequels attracted key film names - James Cameron performs " Aliens " (1986) and David Fincher makes the third , " Alien 3" (1992). Apparently in 1997, with " Alien Ressurrection ", the monster looks finish their days . But not . In 2012 appears "Prometeus " and in 2017, Ridley Scott himself re- directs " Alien : Covenant". And although then they paired with another fantastic figure modern , in " Alien Vs. Predator "(1994), the original film of Ridley Scott continues to surprise , the true mark of aclassic . With Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerrit and John Hurt, among others. The film won the Oscar for Best Effects Visuals in 1980 and was exhibited at the 1st Fantasporto in 1981.

Fantasporto starts , with the start of its section competitive, Friday, February 22, with the display, as per Many considered cult film, the remarkable "PROSPECT" If and extends until March 3 at the Rivoli Theater in Porto, with more than one hundredof unpublished films in Portugal to contest selected among the guests after viewing in markets international or proposals from 60 countries, 34 of them in debut world . (JPF)
