Washington D.C. filmmakers bring INNER PEACE to NYC

Stressed-out New Yorkers can take a big breath now and get some much-needed relief by watching a new short film titled, "Inner Peace” a Positive Vision Network Production. "Inner Peace" has been selected to screen as part of the prestigious New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) on March 25th at the Village Cinema in Manhattan. This film is co- directed by award-winning filmmaker Kathleen Ammalee Rogers and 13 times Telly Award Winner Alan Heath. Festival officials have named this “a must see film.”

Written, narrated and co-produced by Rogers with co-producer and cinematographer Heath, "Inner Peace" is a soothing 13 minute visual poem which literally melts stress away and leaves the viewer feeling that life is truly good. Heath’s stunning high definition footage mesmerizes the viewer with both the delicate and the bold beauty of the Shenandoah mountain valley and crystal clear Virginia rivers. A classical score woven with Rogers’ soothing and artful narrative transports the viewer into an experience of deep inner peace and awe at the beauty in the world around us.

According to Rogers, President of Positive Vision Network (PVN) and personal growth expert, “right now many people are stressed more than ever. They are faced with constant demands, financial pressures and continuous negative news from around the world. People literally become sick from worry and stress. The rise in chronic illness, depression and anxiety are evidence of that!”

Rogers observes “When people are so stressed; they forget how to slow down and feel good. Some folks even think that feeling peaceful is an impossible luxury when actually it is a natural state inside everyone of us! We simply need to find our way back into that place. When my clients learn how to find that place of inner balance---it lifts depression and helps them heal faster. And this film makes that easy and fun by blending the power of nature with art and positive thinking. People are really surprised how different they feel after watching it. It’s like good medicine for the mind, body, heart and soul."

Nicole Holland, a film critic at Independent Film Quarterly said “This is a beautiful, soothing film. Kathleen Rogers and the team at Positive Vision Network have demonstrated once again their propensity for healing others through the creative medium of film.”

Heath is no newcomer to nature film making. His 1999 film "The Florida Burrowing Owl " won a Classic Telly Award Best in 20 years, the Best Conservation Message at the International Wildlife Festival Montana Film Festival and the Communicator Award. As a part of the PVN team, Heath says, “It is a known fact that when people go into nature they become a part of it, slow down and relax----just watch children playing in a field or someone sitting by the campfire under the trees. I have wanted to film wild life since I was a boy because it relaxes me. Now with PVN we are doing it for all of us!”

Positive Vision Network is a multimedia entertainment, education, publishing and production company dedicated to creating and distributing entertainment and resources which help people have positive thoughts, attitudes, life skills and living. PVN is not only dedicated to making positive media, but also to encouraging others to create positive films, literature, music and art, too. “Inner Peace” is the second film in Rogers and Heath’s “This World is Yours Series.”
