The 13th edition of German-Turkish Co-Production Development Fund supports 4 new film projects

The German-Turkish Co-Production Development Fund, established by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and Meetings on the Bridge programme of the Istanbul Film Festival, has selected the following projects in its 2023 session.

 

The full list of funded projects:

 

  • Ali Özgür Baltaoğlu, Hezeyan

Co-producers: Vigo Film, Klinkerfilm

  • Banu Sıvacı, Günyüzü

Co-producers: Caf Film, Manderley Films

  • Ramin Matin, Köpekler İçin Gece Müziği

Co-producers: Lilith Film, Newa Film

  • Sinem Kanat, Bilmiyorsun, Ama, Bu Kesin

Co-producers: Noir122Films, Mitos Film

 

 

The selection committee consists of representatives from the three founding institutions of the fund. 4 submitted projects were awarded with a total amount of 20,000 Euros and 10,000 Dollars.

 

Medienboard, Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein Film Fund and Meetings on the Bridge established the German-Turkish Co-Production Development Fund in 2011 with the aim of strengthening and supporting the cooperation between German and Turkish filmmakers.

 

From among the 67 supported films, Sisters premiered in Berlinale Main Competition, Albüm (Mehmetcan Mertoğlu) premiered in Cannes Film Festival Semaine de la Critique, All of a Sudden (Aslı Özge) premiered in Berlinale Panorama, Until I Lose My Breath (Emine Emel Balcı) premiered in Berlinale Forum, Blue Bicycle (Ümit Köreken) and Come to My Voice (Hüseyin Karabey) premiered in Berlinale Generation and My Father’s Wings (Kıvanç Sezer) and Brothers (Ömür Atay) premiered in Karlovy Vary Film Festival Main Competition. When I’m Done Dying (Nisan Dağ) premiered in Talinn Black Nights Film Festival, Zuhal (Nazlı Elif Durlu) premiered in Antalya Film Festival, Ela and Hilmi and Ali (Ziya Demirel) premiered in Istanbul Film Festival, Les Enfants Terribles (Ahmet Necder Cupur) premiered in Visions du Reel, Snow and the Bear (Selcen Ergun) premiered in Toronto Film Festival and Dormitory (Nehir Tuna) premiered in Venice Film Festival.

 

The fund has supported German-Turkish co-productions with 1,036,00 Euros until now.
