The Sundance Festival announced two Surprise Screenings added to the 2001 line-up.
Happy Campers marks the directorial debut of Daniel Waters, the writer
of Heathers. Brad Renfro, Dominique Swain, James King, Jordan Bridges,
Emily Bergl, Justin Long, and Keram Malicki-Sanchez portray a diverse team of
counselors who take over Camp Bleeding Dove after their tyrannical director
(Peter Stormare) is accidentally incapacitated. The film premieres January 21
at 3 pm, Eccles Theatre. Stranger Inside focuses on a mother daughter
reunion set in the harsh reality of a women's correctional facility. Directed
by Cheryl Dunye (The Watermelon Woman, Greetings from Africa)
the film stars Yolonda Ross and Davenia McFadden. The film premieres January
24 at 11:30 am, Prospector Theatre.
