Oliver Schmitz Biography and FilmographyAfter an impressive career at UCT Michaeli's School of Fine Art in Capetown, Oliver Schmitz completed a BA (Fine Art), majoring in film and audiovisuals. Working as a co-ordinator for Media Workshop Afroscope led him to Momentum Films as an assistant editor, where he worked pimarily on documentaries and magazine programs for television. He then worked as sound editor on the TV drama "Blind Justice" and edited the documentary Two Rivers for Murunzie Motion Pictures, which won first prize at the Nyon Festival in Switzerland (1985). In 1985, he left South Africa for West Germany where he worked as an Editor for West German television, during which time he worked on various prize winning documentaries ( Hobo's in Dortmund, Living with Cancer, Fashion - Made in Dortmund ). Oliver proceeded with the project while being in London. Oliver's future plans include writing and directing more features, using stories that reflect the political realities of living in South Africa.
