2012 Titanic International Film Festival has a very strong selection of tour docs.

Neil Young Journeys is the third documentary Oscar-winner director (The Silence of the Lambs) Jonathan Demme has made with his old friend, genius of American folk rock, Canadian Neil Young, on his solo tour in 2011. Never Make It Home documents Kirk Rundstrom's last months. The hell-raising lead singer/guitarist of Wichita "insurgent country" band Split Lip Rayfield was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only two months to live in 2006. The film is the inspiring story of what he chose to do next. The Family Jams is a video documentary on a 2004 ragtag tour across the US with folk-rock band Vetiver joined by freak folk stars Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Filmed by Vetiver guitarist Kevin Barker, this is an exploration from the inside; a look at that nostalgic time spent on the brink, before success carries friends away from each other.

The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of José González is, again, an exclusive insight into a lonely creative process and one's attempt to manage and understand his own existence. The film revolves around the life and mind of a young folk-acoustic musician, Argentinean-born, Swedish José González. The film was shot over a three-year period on location in Sweden, Japan, Singapore, United States, South Africa, England, Chile and Argentina. Waiting For The Tsunami follows French director-cinematographer Vincent Moon and the Argentinean-Colombian duo Lulacruza travelling around Columbia while listening to the voices of the land and its people.

For hip-hop and rap fans we recommend a documentary about one of the most influential and groundbreaking musical groups in hip-hop history, featuring Busta Rhymes, Pharrell or members of The Beastie Boys. Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, made by renown actor and producer-director Michael Rapaport, captures a reunion tour with band A Tribe Called Quest in 2008, ten years after their sudden break-up, and the story of how tenuous their relationship has become. P.J. Harvey's latest album Let England Shake is already a strong contender for album of the year. In the movie Let England Shake its twelve songs are all accompanied by social poetic depictions of everyday life in the country as seen through photographer, now turned cinematographer Seamus Murphy's lens, and presented together as an unbroken whole.

We are more than proud to present Inni, the famous Icelandic alter/post-rock band Sigur Rós' second live film, filmed in near-monochromatic at their last gig of 2008 at Alexandra Palace, England. The film's elegance and atmosphere are enhanced by the re-filming of the original digital footage on 16mm, which was then re-filmed again, sometimes through prisms and other found objects, allowing Inni to look and feel like something recovered from the past, interspersed with archival footage of the band.

Kodaly Method is an audio-visual project created by director Bálint Szimler, cinematographer Marcell Rév and their team. At Titanic, they screen a 42-minutes long compilation of their short videos featuring Hungarian and international performers/orchestras' live performances according to a crisp visual idea. It's not about music videos in a traditional sense, since sound and picture come into existence at the very same moment in key with a strong aesthetic concept. The main goal of the videos is to be musically and visually personal, simple and unique, always focusing on a special side of the performers.
