Malibu Fest only a week away from opening

On Friday April 13, 2007, the curtains will open for the 8th Malibu International Film Festival with the Opening Night Films at 7:30 p.m.: "The Toll", "Life is Short", "Hollow", "Lance is a Jerk", "Greetings From Earth", "Love Hollywood Style". Films screening at 9:30 p.m.: "Moe + Les", "Still Life", "The Falling Man", "Pretty Dead Flowers", "Damaged Goods", "The Drifter". Tickets $10.

The celebration continues with a Red Carpet After Party located at Bergamont Station Arts Center with DJ Jason Bentley of KCRW. Presenting Sponsor Hornburg Jaguar of Santa Monica. Sponsored by 20th Century Props, Heineken, Imperia Vodka, 4Copas Tequila, Fiji Water, Writers Boot Camp and more. 9:30 p.m. Tickets $20.

The 8th Malibu International Film Festival 2007 will be a grand affair April 13 - 16. The Festival will screen new cutting edge independent films at the American Cinematheque on Montana Avenue in the trendy part of Santa Monica. The Opening Night Party will take place at Bergamount Station Arts Center. The Festival will wrap up with the Geoffrey's Awards Night Party at the world famous Geoffrey's Malibu.

Malibu International Film Festival is a competition festival focusing on premiering films from around the world. Every year, films premiere and are picked up for distribution, making Malibu the perfect place to connect with filmmakers, producers, distributors, agents and managers. If your mission is building business in the motion picture industry or brand recognition in Southern California, you need to be at the Malibu International Film Festival.

Opening Night Films
On Friday April 13th at 7:30 p.m., the curtains will open for the 8th Malibu International Film Festival with the Opening Night Films at the Aero Theater. Tickets $10

Opening Night Party
This party celebrates the Opening Night of the 8th Malibu International Film Festival at Bergamont Station Arts Center with DJ Jason Bentley of KCRW. Complimentary beer, wine & spirits to be provided by Heineken, Rosenthal Estate Wines, 4Copas Tequila, Imperia Vodka and Korbel. Complimentary H'ordurves served. Time: 9:30 p.m. Tickets $20.

Film Screenings
Film screenings take place at the Aero Theater located at 1328 Montana Ave in Santa Monica from Friday April 13 through Sunday April 15. Tickets $10.

Test Drives
Test drive a 2007 Jaguar at Hornburg Santa Monica March 1 through April 15 or at the Festival in April and receive a complimentary screening ticket to the Malibu Film Festival.

Writers Boot Camp?Join Writers Boot Camp founder Jeffrey Gordon for a Mini-Camp -- a candid, comprehensive discussion on commonly held fallacies about writing for film and television. This free event is both educational and entertaining, and beneficial to writers of all levels and genres, or for anyone working with writers. Sunday April 15 10 a.m., Aero Theater.

Awards Night
On Monday April 16th at 6:00 p.m., the Festival will wrap up in high style with the Geoffrey's Malibu Awards Night Dinner Party. This night honors the award-winning films and filmmakers of the 2007 Malibu International Film Festival. Jacket, tie and upscale cocktail attire required. Tickets $100.
