Its only Rock and Roll and film: Backseat Film Fest returns

Backseat Film Festival Brings the Rock Back to Philadelphia!
Announcing the 2006 Edition of ‘The Drinking Man’s Film Festival’
February 7, 2006; Now in its fourth year, The Backseat Film Festival (BFF) returns to Philly with a loud drunken crash! The Rock N’ Roll Film Fest is back in town, this time with a full week of programming guaranteed to leave you breathless, or passed out depending on how drunk you get! Join us February 28th through March 5th at the Triangle Theater (1220 N. Lawrence Street, Btwn 4th and 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19122), and we’ll bring the booze! Ticket prices are cheap, $5 for one film program or $25 for an all access laminate! And all afterparties are FREE!

Philadelphia Schedule of Events:
Tuesday, February 28th- BFF Opening Ceremony, Special Event TBA
Wednesday, March 1st- 2 Film Programs, After Party TBA
Thursday, March 2nd- 2 Film Programs, After Party TBA
Friday, March 3rd- 2 Film Programs, After Party TBA
Saturday March 4th- 2 Film Programs, Awards Ceremony, After Party at Wisky Dix (421. N 7th St)
Sunday March 5th- "Special Bonus" Screenings, Special Event TBA

Within this press release, you’ll find our feature film selections for the festival, all of which are Philadelphia Premieres! We’ll be announcing the full lineup for each film program in the coming weeks, which will include these features as well as lots of shorts and music videos. Also, we’ll be announcing all the killer after parties, which will include live bands, sideshow acts, game shows and much more!

About the Backseat Film Festival:
The BFF is devoted to the best in edgy, unpretentious movies from all over the cinematic globe. An electrifying mix of zany short films, sleazy music videos, unrelenting documentaries and some of the most exciting feature film premieres around, the BFF is a showcase for movies that embody the youthful, exhilarating spirit of rock ‘n roll. No multicultural-love-stories or heavy-handed political statements here, just a lot of zombies, hot chicks, bad jokes and great music.
The BFF selection process is very thorough to ensure the quality of the selections. First the programmers watch the film sober, then again when they are slightly buzzed, then again when totally smashed. The films that don’t make the cut are then put into a rejected submissions pile, which is then ritualistically and violently destroyed before a live audience at the BFF Opening Ceremonies. Past rejections have been axed, burned, hammered, micro waved and even shot. This year we are considering putting them into a car and driving them off a cliff or into a wall, but you’ll have to come to the Opening Ceremonies to see!

Besides having great films, our only other festival policy is that you must be able to drink booze in any venue the festival is held in, and plenty of it! Thanks to generous sponsors like Pabst Blue Ribbon and Sailor Jerry Rum, we’re able to give free booze out like water! As those who attended past festival events can attest, the programmers of the BFF vow that they will do a shot with anyone who buys a ticket for the festival as they enter the screening, and then some!
