FEFF will close on 1st May, with the International Premiere of IP MAN 2

Further to Wilson Ip's last piece of work, the festival has presented 72 films from a range of 9 different Asian genres.

UDINE - The great festival will be closed on Saturday 1st May by Wilson Yip's highly anticipated Ip Man 2, on the screen at Far East Film as an International Premiere (thanks to the collaboration with Mandarin Film). After having enchanted the Udinese audience in 2009 with his first title, triumphing also at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Wilson Yip therefore adds a new side to Yip Man, the cinematographical biography of the celebrated Master Bruce Lee, for the enjoyment of all those who are passionate about martial arts!

Nail-biting film, rich in extraordinary choreographed action, Ip Man 2 recounts the fight between Yip Man (acted, once again, by the brilliant Donnie Yen) and another master of kung fu (the legendary Sammo Hung). In the background, in post-war Hong Kong, the English occupants and their strategies: preoccupied by the influence of Yip Man on the people, in fact, encourage the rivalry between the two leading to the inevitable final battle...

Shared amongst the historic seat of the same Teatro Nuovo and the rooms of Visionario, the FEFF 12 has offered 72 titles to the spectators (taken from a prospective 600), unfolding over a 9-day programme featuring the best proposals from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam. The public response has been, as with all of the previous years, massive and enthusiastic!

The organisers have put together a dense and well-constructed programme, once again perfectly balanced between past and present, where they have found the space for previews, rediscoveries and meetings with the guests. Along with the film showings, that have testified - amongst other things - the glorious rebirth of Hong Kong cinema, there will also be events within the event, for example the return of the great retrospectives (a dedication to the legendary Japanese production house Shintoho, the other side of the cinema not alined with Patrick Lung Kong) or the first edition of Eave Ties That Bind, the brand new International workshop dedicated to Asian and European producers.
