FEFF CAMPUS 2022 - FEFF 24 invites 10 aspiring global journalists to become part of the FEFF Family!

22/30 April 2022 - Udine, Italy, Teatro Nuovo and Visionario

FAR EAST FILM FESTIVAL 24 The Forces of the FEFF Campus Unite!

Far East Film Festival invites 10 aspiring global journalists/critics to become part of the FEFF Family.

The Far East Film Festival, in Udine, Italy, will continue to forge the bonds between the cinema worlds of the East and the West with the staging of the 8th edition of its FEFF Campus – the innovative education programme which will this year host 10 aspiring journalists/critics five from Asia and five from Europe – from 22 April to 30 April.

After assessing applications that came in from across the globe, FEFF is very proud to announce that this year’s successful Campus candidates are Zhu Zijiao (China); Eunha Lim (South Korea); Amarsanaa Battulga (Mongolia);  Eunice Joyce B. Helera (Philippines); Jolie Fan Yuxuan (Singapore); Veronica Calienno (Italy); Greta Elettra Broms (Sweden); Harry Robinson (United Kingdom); Elizabeth Alpaidze (Georgia); Mariona Borrull Zapata (Spain).

They will now officially join the FEFF family across the course of this year’s festival, with the Campus programme adapting to the times with a hybrid programme that will help them chart a course into their future careers.

“We are thrilled to have FEFF back fully live in Udine to once again welcome guests from around the world - and that includes our Campus family,” said FEFF festival director, Sabrina Baracetti.

“We were impressed with the high standard of diverse applicants and the obvious passion they showed for Asian cinema and are proud that we are able to forge these connections between film lovers everywhere, thanks to the many Campus supporters. We are preparing to welcome them together - live and online - for a unique cross-cultural experience, and for a whole lot of fun.”

The FEFF Campus programme was initiated with great success in 2015 and will this year continue its commitment to providing a unique opportunity for emerging film industry talents to go “behind the scenes” at a film festival, while learning from the expertise provided by a line-up of media and film-industry veterans. This year’s Campus will include special seminars related to film-specific subjects, such as “What It Means to Be a Critic”, while the successful candidates will also have the opportunity to interview a selection of the biggest stars in Asia, and the chance to have their work published on global media platforms.

They will also have direct access to the ever-popular FEFF Talks series of seminars and guest appearances. The “business of film” is also high on the agenda for 2022, and the Campus attendees will be able to gain a valuable insight into the inner workings of the industry through FEFF’s "Focus Asia" and “Ties That Bind” industry sections.

Among the stars to take time to work with the Campus last year was Japan’s Oscar-winner Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car) and this year the successful candidates will be on-hand to welcome FEFF’s special Guest of Honour, the legendary Takeshi Kitano.

The 8th edition of the FEFF Campus is this year being supported by the Asian film-industry platform Easternkicks.com as well as by the likes of the Taiwan News, Content Asia, Telum Media, Cineuropa and The New Straits Times.
