Trevor Jackson will be starring opposite James Franco in Jon Amiel’s action thriller MACE, Myriad Pictures is selling

Meyers Media Group today announced that Trevor Jackson (GROWN-ISH, SUPERFLY) will co-star with James Franco (127 HOURS, THE DISASTER ARTIST) in MACE. Jon Amiel (COPYCAT, ENTRAPMENT) is set to direct from a script by David Chisholm.

Myriad Pictures has launched worldwide sales for MACE at the Marche du Film at Cannes. Meyers Media Group’s Lawrence Steven Meyers, Randy Dannenberg, and John Evangelides will produce. Brendan McDonald and Kirk D’Amico will serve as Executive Producers.

MACE is the harrowing story of two very different types of cops. A Veteran officer, Mace, to be played by James Franco, amoral, corrupt, and dangerously unhinged, and Virgil Woods, played by Trevor Jackson, a young rookie who believes that he can change the system that fosters cops like Mace from within. Inspired by the recent racial injustice on the streets of America, Woods refuses to be bullied and pits his principles against the deranged Mace, the cop who has lost any semblance of human dignity. Woods risks everything he believes in to stop Mace from destroying the city when Mace unleashes a gang war to cover up his crimes. Everyone around Mace is in danger as Mace plays his game and tries to conceal his tracks, no matter the cost.

Directed by BAFTA® award winner Jon Amiel from David Chisholm’s screenplay, the film stars Academy Award® nominee James Franco and Trevor Jackson, the break-out star of the hit-series GROWN-ISH. The film is in pre-production with principal photography set to begin in Q3 in New Jersey.

Meyers Media Group’s Lawrence Steven Meyers commented, "We are thrilled to have Trevor join us in this pivotal role. He is the perfect addition to MACE and we can’t wait to see what he will bring to the role of Virgil.”

Trevor Jackson is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for portraying “Aaron Jackson” on the Freeform original series GROWN-ISH. He can also be seen as “Kevin Blake” on the Syfy original series EUREKA and as “Kevin LaCroix” on AMERICAN CRIME. Recently he starred in the lead role in the 2018 crime drama film SUPERFLY.

Jon Amiel is an award-winning director, writer, producer who garnered international acclaim for THE SINGING DETECTIVE and followed that with QUEEN OF HEARTS which premiered in Cannes. The film was also named Best First Film at the Montreal Festival and won the Birmingham Festival's Best British Feature Film Award. TUNE IN TOMORROW, starring Keanu Reeves and Peter Falk, was his American film debut and won the Prix Publique at the Deauville Film Festival. He followed up with the critically acclaimed SOMMERSBY with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster, COPYCAT with Holly Hunter and Sigourney Weaver, THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE with Bill Murray, ENTRAPMENT with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones, THE CORE, with Hilary Swank & Aaron Eckart and CREATION with Paul Bettany which opened the Toronto Film Festival.

Jon Amiel is represented by Echo Lake Entertainment, The Gersh Agency and Gochman Law Group. James Franco is represented by UTA, Agence Adequat, Anonymous Content and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Trevor Jackson is represented by CAA, Management 360 and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light.
