It was 1974 and Mr. Lansky was still pissed off at the World for not letting him buy it. I had been with Meyer since 1968, in my own world, in upstate N.Y. My mentor was my father, who worked for Meyer and Doc Farone, an old ally and bootlegger with Meyer. Doc was the first legitimate Molsen Beer Distributer in America. I learned in 68 that he had just used Molsen as a front to ship moonshine back into Canada. Doc would put me on errands with money to Ray Patriarca in Providence, R.I. and give me a wopping$ 400 per week, guaranteed! My father had been fixing Supreme Court Cases for the old combination since 1952-3 and was a general partner in Solomin, Kirwin, and Craft. No, they were not lawyers, they were better. They were the only Official Supreme Court Reporters from Newburgh to Canada, out to Utica and down to Otsego County. My father was the Republican bag man and Art Kirwin was the Democratic bag man. They could fix any non jury trial in the State. They were the last say on what was testamony also. Trust me, the Lawyers knew it to. My father use to sit in a small office next to the court room just before any trial, in any city, and wait for the lawyers. If any lawyer failed to show up and show respect with money, my dad was known to loose testamony or evidence. The Judges, at that time backed him up totally. Meyer wanted my father happy so he made me a full associate at the age of 20. I had Doc, and Paul DiCocco, plus Willie Alderman and Sammy Cohen looking out for me. My Uncle was the Albany Police bag man and head of the Gambling squad, so I could not get arrested for anything. I specialized in Hi-jacking Montgomery Wards Warehouses and any jewelry I could get my hands on! The problem with Meyer is that he found out that I was a sharpshooter, and that my father had personally trained me since the age of 5. I was like theTiger Woods of Guns. It was this and my knowledge of laundering money, and my honesty, that got me a full General Membership (made) in both the Lansky Group and the new NCS (old combination) plus having my own crews that were active at the age of 25. In the summer of 74 all do-do hit the fan. Meyer ordered me, through my partner, to hit Pierre Trudeau of Canada and Fidel Castro of Cuba. At first I laughed, then when I saw no smiles, I got serious. I was paid well (over 100K), a good price for a member being ordered, and I was promised another finance deal for my night-clubs. I knew I could hit Trudeau because the RCMP was not up to par in those days and I controlled the Canadian N.Y. Border with Paul DiCocco of Schenectady. I was of course the junior partner, which would change with the years, but never the less, a partner with Paul and the Teamsters, thru Nick Robolotto of 294. I was always friendly with Nick, since he could be used and was a class act! I lugged some custom stuff to Plattsburg and had a short affair with a local teacher and barmaid Alice. She was a nice girl ,but had 4 kids, and I did not want to go to far. I did think she was a fine girl and she was fun to be with! I scoped out Montreal, for I was not going to pop Pierre Trudeau in Ottawa. The Montreal Police were to busy with the locals to know anything. I was a full syndicate Member and I was not going to see any local organization people. I did not trust them, and because Paul was a former underboss to Carmine Galante, I knew I could never trust any outfit guys in Montreal. We actually still owned Montreal at that time but Carlo Gambino was the man who controlled Montreal with the Bononos. I was not going to be set up by local wise guys, who would rather see me picked up, to get points with the law and especially the RCMP. I operated alone and liked it that way. I was going to use an AR-7, a small lite-weight 22 caliber  break down weapon. The AR, although a 22, was the perfect weapon because it broke down faster than any other gun. I had custom barrels sent in from Europe in 42 (inch) to 60' (inch) barrel lenghts. The gun cost $60.00 but the custom made barrels cost $4000.00 for the lot. The 22 caliber bullet can not be traced and I shaved the heads with sandpaper. I chose 6 locations in Montreal, Trudeau's home town, and was prepairing to go for the deed. I had no problen\m with the Trudeau hit, but I was having second thoughts about the Castro Hit.
