The heart of the documentary beats on the magnificent Castellorizo.The 7th Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival Castellorizo will be held under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou from the 21 to the 28 of August 2022.
The initiative of Hellenic History Foundation that promotes cinema that began 7 years ago has evolved into an institution of international range with important cooperations with organisations and personalities from all over the world.
The record number of this year’s documentary film participations that joined the festival of Beyond Borders is 790 (last year it was 567) from 100 countries. Over the next period the Pre-selection committee will choose the documentary films that are going to compete.at this year’s edition.
The Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival Castellorizo is organised every year in the last week of August, at the edge of Aegean, at Castellorizo an island with unrivalled beauty, long history and tradition. The goal is to honour the special examples of cinematographic narrative, to promote original works of famous and new actors from the international community with the axes being history and socially, to connect the present with the past and bridge any gaps, to study wondering and unknown monuments of international heritage, tell common and personal stories, record the people and civilization of Greece, Europe, Asia , Africa, Australia and the entire world.
Beyond Borders is organized by the Hellenic History Foundation, in co-organization with Ecrans des Mondes (Paris).
The 7th Beyond Borders International Documentary Festival will be held under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The Festival is sponsored and/or endorsed by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Interior, the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hellenic Parliament, the Municipality of Megisti, the Embassies of Australia, U.S.A., Federal Republic of Germany, the Czech Centre, EKOME, the Greek Film Center and ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation).
