Waiting for John Malkovich and other premières at BerlinaleIt’s going to be a special world première at Berlinale: Seneca-On the Creation of Earthquakes, by German director Robert Schwentke (The Captain, 2018), in collaboration with John Malkovich in the role of the Roman philosopher and an impressive international cast (with a wonderful Geraldine Chaplin). Watch the amazing teaser:
Around the year 65 AD, Seneca, Nero’s teacher suddenly falls into disgrace and is accused of conspiring for the emperor’s death and has to die before the next morning breaks. Seneca accepts his fat but decides to give a last lecture about his convictions to his followers…
Besides Seneca and the highly anticipated Becker documentary by Alex Gibney (Steve Jobs, 2015) the Berlinale Galas will also host the Japanese thriller Mannhole by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri and Peter Geyer’s animation feature: “Loriot’s Great Cartoon Revue” about the German comedian and cartoonist, Vicco von Bulow, Loriot.
