HOOK TV-series is the first original show produced by video service MEGOGO, and it will be premiered at European Film Market on March 5. This is a story about a Russian hockey agent who finds himself in a center of sports corruption. Starring Yuri Kolokolnikov, Russian actor well-known in Hollywood: star of the latest Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Tenet and series of Game of Thrones. Also, he played a “bad Russian” in The Hitman’s Bodyguard and a “good Russian” in Hunter Killer.

Megogo studio participates in the EFM at the ROSKINO* virtual umbrella booth that unites thirty-nine Russian content makers.

Yuri Kolokolnikov, an actor in the series HOOK :
«As they say after the matches of the athletes, how dynamic the game was and how much was put in work. I can say the same about our project. Despite the fact that the match lasted not three periods, but three months of shooting, it was a very dynamic. I would even say extremely turbulent. Thanks to everyone involved in the tumultuous process, to all the athletes who helped and participated, to the hockey clubs that let us film at their stadiums, and of course to all the crew. With this team we made it to the end, kept the pace and survived the battle. Thank you all very much. Well, as my character Nikita Kryukov says - I am in the game».

Hook — is the name of the bottom of the hockey stick and the nickname of a main character Nikita Kryukov. Also, his often called Captain Hook as the referents to his late and successful carrier. Now he had to face the difficulties of the sport agent, and he sure knows how to deal with problems. At the same time he's in the middle of a divorce, but he meets another love interest. Every day becomes a real challenge and Kryukov has to find a way to keep the business afloat and also remain a good person. The story is full of drama but also has lots of jokes and comedy.

Georgy Malkov, producer of the Hook series:
«With such a degree of frankness and authenticity of the series about what happens behind closed doors in the world of big hockey, it seems to us, no one in Russia has yet filmed. Everything that remains behind the hockey box - the huge money, relationships, true friendships, betrayals, set-ups, incredible ups and downs, all this in our series. Everything came together perfectly in The Hook - the cast, the story, the locations, and the latest filming technology. The result is an actual modern film series, which has every chance to become a favorite not only among Russian audiences, but also abroad».

The first season contains 10 episodes of 26 minutes each with the possibility of creating a feature film. The series will be released exclusively on the MEGOGO video service in RUSSIA and CIS Spring 2021. The producers plan to make season 2 in coproduction with other world territories.

Synopsis
Famous hockey player Nikita Kryukov (Kryuk=Hook), as a continuation of his career, is trying his fortune in the hockey agency business. Despite his past achievements, the hockey player is discovering a new world of sports that does not fit to his moral principles. Nikita will have to stand face to face with sports and financial machine and challenge the sinister system.
