TIBERIUS FILM Acquires Rights for THE NINTH and THE WIDOW at AFMTIBERIUS FILM Acquires Rights for Stunning Russian High Quality Production THE NINTH at AFM such as the Horror Movie THE WIDOW and Woody Harrelson’s Star Cast Comedy LOST IN LONDON.
At the American Film Market AFM 2019 in Los Angeles, Tiberius Film gives notice of several high-class purchases. Apart from Woody Harrelson´s all-star cast comedy LOST IN LONDON, the Munich-based independent film distributer secured the rights to THE NINTH and THE WIDOW. Both movies are large-scale productions from CENTRAL PARTNERSHIP studios. The visually stunning action movie THE NINTH, that celebrates its premiere this week in Russia, is set in the 19th century St. Petersburg, in which occultism and spiritual séances are very popular. Suddenly a series of mysterious murders happen, which keep young commissioner Rostov on track... With Evgeniy Tsyganov as leading actor (main actor in the award winning movie „Red Sniper“) and Juri Kolokolnikov, known from the US action-movie „Hunter Killer“, sensational effects and a thrilling story promise excellent entertainment. Likewise, from Russia comes the intoxicating horror thriller THE WIDOW, that tells the story of a group of volunteers searching for a missing girl and thereby encountering unimaginable horror. The spirit of the ‚limping witch’ have seemed to be responsible for the disappearance of innocent people for decades. THE WIDOW is an spectacular cinematic experience with outstanding visual effects and was adapted by directors of movies like „Baba Yaga: Terror oft he Dark Forest“ or „Mermaid; The Lake of the Dead“, the script was written by the author of FRIGHT FEST’s winning movie „The Bride“. LOST IN LONDON by SIGNATURE ENTERTAINMENT was an outstanding project and cinematic experiment, that brought a lot of pleasure to the whole filmcrew: Hollywood-Star Woody Harrelson shot the entire movie in one night and screened it live in selected cinemas. He plays himself in this twisted comedy, in which he experiences a completely insane night in London, that eventually ends up in prison. Other well-known actors and musicians who cross his path that night are Owen Wilson, Daniel Radcliffe, Willie Nelson, Bono and a lot more. Oliver Fink, managing director of Tiberius Film GmbH: „Once again we’re pleased to announce the acquisition of international film highlights at the AFM 2019. For us it is important to make use of this prominent event by deepening the longstanding relationships with our partners, to be able to provide our consumers with a range of excellent and diverse films.“
